The company it bought, Jornaya, markets technology that resides on more than 55,000 price comparison-shopping websites for life insurance products. It gathers data that can help life insurers learn a lot more about people shopping online for life insurance — and target them for a sales pitch while the iron is hot.
Acquiring Jornaya was “masterful” for Verisk, giving it another critical piece in the insurance technology supply chain, said Forrester principal analyst Ellen Carney. Publicly traded Verisk is already an immense company, valued at more than Athene Holding and Principal Financial combined.
